Learn To Take Care Of Your WAHL CLIPPERS

    Oiling Your Wahl Clipper

Wahl Clippers should be oiled on a regular basis as part of the ongoing maintenance of your clipper. Oiling is a quick and easy way to ensure better cutting performance and longer blade life. As the top blade of the clipper moves at very high speed it is essential oil is present to stop both heat and wear.

    Tuning Your Wahl Clipper

Wahl Clippers are tuned at the factory to run on Australian or New Zealand voltage (230~240v/50Hz) however due to the nature of our electrical supply system means the actual voltage in your location can be +/- 10%. Clipper performance will vary with the actual voltage in your location, so it is essential to tune your clipper to get the best performance. The procedure for this is as follows :

Tuning should be done each week to ensure maximum power output. Please note - if the turning screw is wound in too far, the blade will stop moving.

An Easy Guide to Trimmer Maintenance

Your beard is a masterpiece, and just like Michelangelo and Van Gogh had their tools, you have yours. You can bet Michelangelo didn’t paint the Sistine Chapel with an old, ratty paintbrush, so you shouldn’t trim your beard with any less-than-stellar tools. Your trimmer is key to maintaining your magnificent man-mane, so you need to properly care for it. A high-quality Wahl trimmer should last you many years, but only if you treat it right. Luckily, we’re here to help you keep your trimmer around for a good (and long) time. Here are four ways to maintain your beard trimmer.

    1. Keep the Blades Slick

You may have been too excited unpacking your new Wahl Trimmer to notice exactly what was in the box, or maybe you thought we messed up and accidentally included some of those fancy essential oils your wife keeps talking about. But, there’s a purpose behind that little bottle of oil included with each trimmer, and that’s to oil your trimmer blades. You should oil your trimmer regularly to ensure proper running. When you use your trimmer without oiling the blades, you might notice your trimmer overheating, making a loud noise or not trimming as it should. For best results, put one to two drops of Wahl Trimmer oil on the blades approximately once a month, or as needed. To >properly oil the blades, turn on your trimmer and hold it with blades facing downward. While the trimmer is on, squeeze three drops of oil across the front of the blade and one drop on each side of the blade heel. Wait about five seconds, then switch the trimmer off and wipe away any excess with a soft cloth. Do not over oil as this can cause damage to the trimmer’s motor.

After each use, clean your trimmer with the included brush or remove the head, rinse with water and then allow to air dry before reattaching.

    2. Out with the Dull, In with the Sharp

Just like most of the items in your refrigerator, your trimmer blades have an expiration date. Unlike some of the items in your refrigerator (looking at you, moldy cheese) don’t ignore this. When your trimmer’s blades are dull, it can actually hurt that beautiful beard. Relax—while you only have weeks before that cheese goes bad, your trimmer blades should last you years and years before needing replacement. When the time comes, you may notice your trimmer’s blades have rust on them or are pulling your hair. This means it’s time for new blades. Dull blades pull at your hair instead of cutting it, leaving your beard uneven, unruly and undesirable. Don’t let your beard suffer and pick up a shiny new trimmer blade or trade up to anew trimmer.

    3. Travel with Care

We’ve already talked about how important beard care is while on , so of course you wouldn’t forget your trimmer at home while you travel, right? Well, we’re here to remind you to engage the travel lock on your trimmer when in transit to avoid accidental activation and even worse, possible breakage. Dependent on the product, you may have a different way to engage the lock. For some products , hold the power button on your trimmer for three seconds to engage the travel lock. Then, upon arrival to your destination, disengage the travel lock by holding the power button again for three seconds. To learn how to engage the travel lock on your specific device, check your products’ instruction booklet or view the digital version on our website.

    4. Full Charging for Full Effect

Avoid that half-beard trim by fully charging your trimmer before use. To keep the battery working to its full potential, be sure to completely charge your trimmer every time you plug it in. Plugging your trimmer in here and there for a few minutes is the equivalent of taking a shot of espresso—great in the moment, but you can expect a crash later in the day. Before you attempt to trim your whiskers, make sure your trimmer is fully charged to ensure it’s working to its maximum ability.

Following these tips will ensure your trimmer stays in tip-top shape. But, if you didn’t get the memo and your poor trimmer is already KO’ed, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
